After graduating from the Faculty of Environmental and Information Studies of Tokyo City University, she obtained her Master’s degree in Development Studies, Environment and International Development from the University of East Anglia in the UK. Prior to assuming her current post in November 2013, she worked for the Japan Fund for Global Environment and Operation of the Asbestos-Related Health Damage Relief System at the Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency of Japan. She is involved in communication, capacity building, education, participation and awareness (CEPA) activities for the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands. She was charged with preparation for the Asian Wetland Symposium 2017 in Saga, Japan as the chief of the secretariat.
