Eco-life fair exhibition booth 2010 "Blessings of Wetlands"

It was our 5th year to take part in this event. This booth aimed to raise awareness about the Ramsar Convention and wetland functions. It was organized jointly by the Ramsar Centre Japan and the Japanese Ministry of Environment.

Project Description:

17 municipalities/ organizations participated for the exhibition, while 9 people from 6 organizations were there to help us run the booth. Over 36 people including volunteer worked together. “Wetland Quiz” corner gathered over 500 participants in two days.

Dannon Waters Japan supported the event by providing 480 evian water bottles. They were given to participants of the quiz or donors for fundraising. (The donation was donated to JFGE, Japan Fund for Global Environment.)

A networking party was held following the event, in order to foster communication between participating organizations and volunteers. Participants not only formed a network among wetland stakeholders but also enjoyed “Blessings” from each wetland; products especially food and beverages. The festival provided an opportunity for local organizations not only to promote their wetlands to citizens in the central area but also to stabilize network among themselfes.
